On my dv6t i use the chrome web browser and for some reason websites dont load instantly like they should on a quad core laptop thats brand new. Some websites like: androidcentral.com and bgr.com can take up to a minute to fully load and provide smooth scrolling.

Now most times the browser is the only thing running so it should load super quick on wifi right?

    My specs are:

    i7 2820
    8gb ram
    750gb 5400rpm HD

Shouldnt those specs just tear through web pages with ease?

    THanks

Load times for websites have nothing to do with how powerful your laptop is and everything to do with bandwidth.

So assuming you have DSL or cable, is something on the network using a lot of bandwidth?

Have you tried using a different web browser for reference?

Oh really? I always thought it would be specs that would make all the difference in speed. Umm nothing is taking up our bandwith.

    Here is my speedtest.net results

lol that's hilarious Michael...you're internet speed is probably one of the fastest in the forum haha...hm.. i'd say maybe it because your wireless signal could be getting interference from other wifi networks around you. I would try first connecting a ethernet line to the router and try your browser, and then if still slow try connect your laptop directly to the modem to see if the router the problem.

Michael, download and run nametest as norseman suggests. I suspect you will be astounded at how slow your dns is compared to the google ones he has posted. They can easily be 350 to 500 percent faster than some isp's servers.

Once that's done, mjl's suggestion is also worthy of note. Check the quality of connection to your wireless router and then look at the signal strength. Depending on which model wifi you have in your laptop, check online for that company's wireless utility. They invariably have one that will give you that information as well as allowing you to fine tune your wireless setup. If you're in a multiple wireless environment, you may consider changing your channel/channels etc. as well as perhaps relocating and/or reorienting your wireless router so as to maximize both sig quality and strength.
    Good luck.

This could also be a problem with the chrome web browser, because it takes my laptop a while to load those pages, too.

I followed this guide and found that the problem was because I was running AdBlock, which was slowing down the loading time. Try following those steps and see if it's Chrome at fault here.
