I ordered an HP dv9000z from HP.com on July 8 and it estimates it will be built on July 17th (Standard Shipping). The problem is I need the Laptop by July 20th. Is it possible that my laptop will be built before that? The printer was here on July 11th, when FedEx recieved the order at 10:42 pm on the
8th! Does this mean my computer will be here 2 days after it is shipped? Are HP's printers shipped from the same facility as their custom built computers?
Thanks
Alex

Typically they ship before the estimated build date. It can range from a couple of days or a full week early. But do remember that the 'build date' is when they promise to build the laptop by not the 'ship date'. The shipping should take 3 - 7 working days. Some delays do happen from time to time especially with delays in clearing customs.
Your printer would have shipped from a warehouse in the U.S while your laptop is built and shipped from China. So, the laptop wont make it in 2 days like the printer.
Build times for HP?
