    Hello,

I just received a TtX1000z, and cannot get the webcam to work with Skype or SightSpeed. Both programs say the webcam is in use by another program, but I am not seeing what other program may be using it. I got the webcam to work in QuickPlay once, but now that does not work either.

I have re-booted, but still cannot get it recognized by any program. Any suggestions on what may be blocking the webcam?

I suggest trying to reinstall the drivers for the webcam first, since it doesn't sound like any other program is actually using it.

Here's some more related information for anyone that's reading this thread and didn't find a resolution for their HP Pavilion laptop webcam.

Recently, I had the chance to install Windows Vista on a number of HP laptops with the built-in web cam. The first thing I wanted to do was test out the laptop's web cam since it had been staring at me all throughout the simple installation.

After a little exploring I noticed that there wasn't a clear program that allows operation of the laptop's the built-in web cam and so I decided to write a few help pages for the HP Pavilion laptop camera issues with Vista. Hopefully this will help someone out or at least provide the link to the site that helps some of you out.
