So I purchased my DV1000t with the integrated Bluetooth option figuring that down the line, I'd get a pair of those cool Bluetooth headphones to listen to my music. I mailed HP about this A2DP support, and they said that my internal Bluetooth does not support it. That stinks if that's the case, I thought that since is a newer model laptop, that the Integrated Bluetooth would be a newer model as well. Anybody have any ideas?

You could buy a bluetooth dongle that supports A2DP and plug it in your USB port maybe.

Which is what I did for my Bluetooth-less dv8125nr, but the problem with current generation Bluetooth stereo headsets is that you can listen to music in A2DP mode or use the mic in regular mode but you can't seamlessly switch between the two. I gave up and returned my otherwise nice Motorola stereo headset. The Widcomm (Broadcom) drivers my Bluetooth radio used have very buggy A2DP support too. Long story short, wait for the Bluetooth 2.0 headsets.

I'm actually looking at something called Bluetake that someone else posted in one of the review forums. Yeah, it's only about $20, but I'm surprised that HP's Bluetooth card doesn't support it. Is it maybe just a firmware or driver issue perhaps?

You might want to check that again....the DV1000T comes with
Broadcomm Bluetooth 2.0. The base MS drivers (if you do a clean install) do not supoprt A2DP, but I think the Widcomm ones do.

I read that the Widcomm 5 drivers support A2DP, so is just a matter of uninstalling the Bluetooth adapter, rebooting, and installing the Widcomm drivers? Does the Bluetooth "profile" have anything to do with it?

I don't know what HP's trying to pull, but I've been going back and forth with them via email. They steadfastly said that the internal Bluetooth module is not upgradeable. (I didn't ask, but does that mean if it fails to work it can't be replaced either? I didn't want the additional headache of asking). Then I asked him about the Widcomm 5.0 drivers, and he said that the driver will absolutley not provide A2DP support. Is this just HP protecting their product?
