I can't remember what tool bar HP loaded on my dv6500t but it would not allow the aero task bar to be transparent until I uninstalled it.. I think it was yahoo. When will MS learn? If your product is crap no amount of money can buy market share in search/desktop market. Google is successful because its simple and it works. MS live is and always will be crap IMO. I just configured a fully working pop3 email for my google mail with windows mail for free. Try doing that with live mail.. not going to happen. MS fails because they fail to listen. Their idea of internet search/mail is what they want.. not what consumers ask for.. MS never listens to the market. Sure some may like live, but Google in monstrously more successful in terms of market share for good reason.

I can understand why HP is doing this.. money. However, this is dissapointing nevertheless. I think HP should offer a non bloated option on CTO systems for a fee. Some people, me included, will not be happy to see MS live plastered all over the place when first booting up.

I always do a clean install so this doesnt affect me . No way in hell im gonna use a bloatware system again. Its a world of a difference

Bloatware does keep the cost down by advertising programs like norton. You can just do a clean install aslong as you have a vista install disc

Yep, I understand all that. I just wish MS would just concentrate on making better OS's. I'm sick of MS trying to put themselves on everyone's desktop and everything else. When will they learn that throwing money at something does not guarantee success? Maybe if they listened to what people actually wanted and did some feasibility analysis on market needs they might actually succeed in the internet search portal. Only true monopolies have the luxury to throw money around like they do.

The funny thing about Vista is that it is sooo buggy, but it is actually more secure than Linux and Mac OS's at the moment.

But yeah...you do a clean install or you can even uninstall that stuff if you don't want it.
