    hi there all :D

here I'm back with another problem :D

I have an hp Pavillion zv5000, and during theese days I experienced troubles in burning dvds (writable and re-writable).

afters some trials i have been able to:

1). Burn in all conditions (write, re-write, delete, add files) with dvds Philips +RW.

2.) Do nothing with verbatim dvds -RW (error says "not able to stard DISC AT ONCE)

    3) Burn one dvd out of 6 IMTEC +R (error says "not able to stard DISC AT ONCE)

I' tried upgrading nero burning but the problem still persist.

    Any suggestion guys?

edit2: THIS IS THE CODE OF THE dvdrom of my laptop

HL-DT-ST DVD-RW GWA-4080N hope it will suggest you something :p

You're running Nero 6.6.0.16 or newer? A quick Google search suggests that current Nero versions work but older ones don't properly recognize the drive.

I think there was a problem with XP's built-in burning capabilities. It allows you to burn files onto CD's just by dragging and dropping. From what I remember, if you disable the feature in registry, it may fix the problem, but this a WAY back when XP 1st came out.

    I had the same issue

search the net for the following driver:

    Microsoft driver
    Date 01/07/2001
    Version 5.1.2535.0

    save it
delete dvd drive from device manager - re-boot and point new hardware to the driver - works a treat!
