Perfectly normal. The 200Mhz is the system clock from which your cpu and the Hypertransport link(the bus speed on AMD cpu's) frequency are derived. The 800Mhz is your actual bus speed and since this capable of transffering data in both directions at the same time, the effective frequency is rated at 1600Mhz. Very similar to the technology used in DDR memory.

    Thanks :D

I have been so paranoid since buying the laptop :D

First i contacted HP because my battery life felt short and now im gone a bit weird thinking the laptop is slow because it takes 1-2 seconds to open opera but i guess i am expecting too much because this is my first laptop and did not know what dual-core and 2GB would feel like being in a single core 512mb desktop for so long.

I guess those things don't really make a difference unless multitasking or memory intensive tasks.

see how fast you can encode and burn a dvd to see how much faster dual core is . a 1 hour show takes me about 11 minutes now , instead of 28 minutes on a 3.0 p-4 . believe me dual core makes a big difference

If this is your first laptop and you havent done a clean install. It will definately be slow with all the bloatware HP includes with it. This will also take hit on battery life. A bloated 3minute boot up time compared to a 1minute boot up time from a clean install makes a difference
