Hey guys, I wasn't sure if there was a more appropriate place for this but I have a simple question. I'm looking to replace my 5year old HP zv6130us (2 ghz Athlon 64 3200+ and left side infamous hinge crack issue but mint aside from that) and like the DV7 though I'm not crazy about the espresso bubble boy finish.

Anyway, being a fan of the underdog, I'm going w/another AMD unit and was wondering when the next replacement for the current DV7 is due and if there's any reason to wait? Games aren't real important so I figured that either of the available configs wouldn't matter much, whether they use the 4200 or 4530 graphics setup.

Also, I'm guessing there shouldn't be too much difference between the M600 and M620 CPUs since they share the same 2mb L2 cache as well.

I don't want to spend more than $700-800+tax so the Best Buy/Wal Mart versions (3065/3165,etc) appear to be the most likely candidates.

    Thanks

    Jeremy

Well it looks like Office Depot has the DV7 w/the M620 and HD4530 for $679 after $50 mail in rebate. Even at $729 in store, it's $50 cheaper than the BB model, plus the BB unit still has the HD4200....

Just wanted to see if prices were going to drop significantly in the next couple of months...Think I'll go w/the Office Depot setup...

That's the model I'm currently tempted by. My local Office Depot doesn't have it in stock though so obviously that's a sign that I should save my money :D. It is a great price though.

Yeah, the espresso design is about the only thing that's held me off so far which might be a lame excuse, but I just don't like the idea of having the bubble finish shoved at me with no option for a more classic finish.

The offer around here ends on the 20th or 22nd so I need to decide quick :)

Not sure offhand....I've only seen the 4530 on the Wal Mart and Office Depot models. Most of the BB units have the 4200. I still can't get over the design-
Why couldn't HP stick w/the DV5t imprint?!? Why, oh why?

    Sorry for the drama :p

I'm not really a gamer, but I do multitask between for example between MS Office, multiple internet tabs and say, Photoshop, etc. My current Athlon 64 3200+ is taking a serious hit....
