    Greetings,

I'm soon on the verge of replacing my old Dv5(T9400, 9600m GT, 4GB DDR2) that I got in 2008 with a new Dv6tqe with this specifications:

    HP DV6-6C65ee:
    Processor Intel® Core i7-2670QM (2.2 GHz 6MB L3 Cache)
    Hard Disk 8GB RAM DDR3
    Memory 750GB SATA (5400 rpm)
    Screen 15.6”anti-glare LED Display FULL HD 1920 x 1080
Audio Beats Sound System - Integrated Microphone
    Battery 6 cell - Lithium-Ion
DVD Blu-ray ROM with DVD - RWDL
    Connectivity Wireless LAN / Bluetooth / 2 USBs 2.0 & 2 USBs 3.0/ Card Reader / HDMI / Gigabit LAN / 1RJ45
Operating System Microsoft® Windows 7™ Home premium (64 bit)
Graphic Adapter AMD Radeon HD 7690M XT (2GB DDR5 Dedicated)
Pointing device Touchpad / Fingerprint Reader
Keyboard English / Arabic with numerical keypad
Warranty 3 Years (1 Year International + 2 Years Local)
    5-Day Repair

the specs sound awesome(although I wish the HDD was 7200rpm but it's hard to get custom things from where I live), But I would like to ask something:

Do you think I should get this laptop now or wait for the new series to be released(mostly because of the GPUs, I know 7690m XT is good enough for medium settings gaming but who knows, perhaps a much faster GPU will be put in the new series?)

So what do you think? now or later? also any suggestion would be greatly appreciated :)

    Best Regards,
    Raficoo

I would wait for ivy and maybe nivida, unless you find a killer coupon/deal.

That radeon 7690 is by far going to be better than the 630m. I can tell you my 3 gig DDR5 6770m has problems at 1080p on BF3. Gotta keep all settings on low. cant imagine a 630m at 1080p....

HP is definitely going to use another GPU stronger than a 630m. It would make no sense for them to limit the highest config to a 630m.

Thanks for the suggestion guys, after a bit of reading and watching the new versions on youtube( personalagain's Channel - YouTube first videos) I decided to wait until the new series come out, the reason I decided this is
    because:
    1-Ivy bridge
    2-Loving the new design
    3-possibility of a Back-lit keyboard!(look at the f5 button on the dv5/6 video)
4-better graphics(I believe the 630m will probably be for the G6/7, hopefully something faster than the 7690m XT and should be 28nm cards)
5-The thinking "wait a a month more and get something that will last you longer"
