Buyer Beware!! Colocomputer 90 day warranty DECLINEDI've purchased 3 laptops from colocomputer in ebay. Thay advertise them as HP manufacturer refurbished with a factory 90 day refurb warranty.
Out of the 3 laptops I got one dud, ENVY 15 with bad webcam and volume knob. I was past the 45 days to file a claim in ebay or paypal so I said no problem, I'll get it repaired under warranty.
Well, HP confirmed this laptop to have an expired warranty and that colocomputer is not an HP dealer! They did not accept my proof of purchase and declined the warranty.
I've been emailing and calling colocomputer with no response so I'm out $955 with a no warranty laptop! Hard lesson learned.
BEWARE OF COLOCOMPUTER!! All their ebay listings offer a 90 day FALSE warranty!!

Unfortunately there isn't much you can do about this through eBay, PayPal, or anything like that. Contact a local attorney to see about filing a small claims case against the seller for $955 + all legal costs. Colocomputer's warranty printed out along with HP's *written* notice about the computer actually having no warranty are likely enough to win a case.

I called ebay support and since the seller still have the same type of laptop listed and they all have the promised but false 90 day warranty they opened a "report" of abuse and false warranty. Nothing regarding my purchase so no help getting my money back though. They told me to contact the seller again and give them 48 hrs to respond and if not to call ebay support again and manually go to all their listings and report them for false warranty... I also opened a claim with the Better Business Bureau. Let's see what happens.

A new buyer beware about ColoComputers on eBay: He knowingly took a PayPal payment with full knowledge that he no longer had the computer. His next move was to say 'Urgent, you must select another computer in order to get this shipped' He tried to upsell, saying he no longer had the computer that we purchased. He then proceeded to whine and cry about how much it would cost to give us the identical computer with the exception of 1080p resolution, saying it would cost $110 additional, but would give us a break at $80 we reluctantly offered $50, which he declined. Before he even received payment he said 'I hope it doesn't sell before I receive payment' and he added 'If it has, we will have to try something else,' to which I said 'I will be sending the payment immediately.' His business ethics are atrocious, both by Canada and US standards of measurement. He even sent us a phoney tracking number for a computer that never existed, let alone enter the mail system.
Beware ColoComputer, beware Serife Mihyaz -
We are seller of that computer. We solved his problem. We replaced the unit with better one. Sadly he did not post the solution after he got new laptop. After 45 days, a customer could not contact us through ebay system. He finally found us through search. We took the unit back and replaced with Envy 17t. If someone is wondering what happened, customer name is removed by moderator. If a customer mention about ebay, somehow HP is telling no warranty. We are selling on Ebay, local, and online. We are fighting with HP to solve this problem, but we could not convince them yet. We have sold around 30,000 units on Ebay and our feedback rating is %99.7. We do not any feedback related warranty. If there is, we are solving it right away.

We are selling customized units, not specific. We generally have only one unit for certain features. I warned him about payment time and told him if that unit is sold on Ebay or locally, we would have to cancel the transaction and refund. I DID NOT SAY we will try something else. He keep bargaining. Normally the price was $820, but kept asking more discount. Then I accepted $810. Since the unit he ordered sold locally (I was his payment one day later since he made the payment during the night I guess), we offered him another unit with 1080P. HP is charging $150 for the difference between 720p and 1080p. We are paying $110 for the difference. I asked $100, but again asking more and more. Then I accepted $80 and told him that we cannot do more. I spent at least 2-3 hours with him over the phone. Anyhow, we did not accept his $50 offer and refunded him. One should see his emails, he is so rude. I am glad we did not complete the transaction. This guy is doing everything for $5. I was telling we cannot do more, but kept asking discount for $5. He called at least 20-30 times. I think we should think about stopping selling to Canada customers. We are having issues with Canada customers.

In response to your slimy weasel move to send us a tracking number without a computer attached to it contradicts your claim that you replaced a previous customer's order with a better computer. Your responsibility in our case was to replace with an equal or better computer, free of charge. Clearly you lack the morales and business ethics that are required in the US and to international customers. Do not buy from this person, you won't receive what you paid for and likely it will not have a warranty or all of the features that he claims are on the computer. Your move, weasel, let's see you explain your lack of customer service given that you sent us a tracking number for the computer with the features we wanted and then did not supply the computer.
