I think I found the best deal. Not needing anything crazy, just looking for the most bang for the buck. Surfing the web, email, word documents.

Is this a good deal? Is this model any good?

I bought this same laptop for my dad earlier this month, almost the same specs. He really likes it so far 0 heat issues and it is fast for surfing the web and other basic stuff. I got it for $550 at the time with 25% BCB so it was a really nice price. My sister may buy the same thing also. I think it is a nice buy.

I was at BB the other day and decided to check one out and I liked it a lot. Build quality was above average and the case seemed cool to the touch despite being on all day. I also liked the the design. For the price it offers a pretty good overall package, providing you don't plan on doing anything graphically intense.

The Dv5t seems like a good machine and I seriously considered it, but I need the resolution of the Envy 14. If you have an extra 60-70 bucks you might want to look at the Dm4t as well. For that extra you get a little better CPU (picked the 450 for this config) and little bigger disk. You also get a smaller and lighter machine. You do give up a bit of screen realestate (which is noticeable to me) and the backlit keyboard (also something I wanted) is not an option on the Dm4t. Oh and the extra cash.
