I'm buying this a few days and have couple of questions left unanswered and would give me peace about making the purchase if answered. :)

    1) I read some of the clean reinstallation guides out there. Didn't seem too complicated. So all I do once I install my new HD and RAM is install Win XP Pro and follow the guides afterwards, correct?

    2) Is it a better idea to buy from Costco.com or directly from HP.com? I don't know much about Costco's 180-day return policy although I read it, I think people that have had experience could tell me better, but it is bout $73 more expensive (although I'd be willing to drop that much if the 180-day is really that good). Costco also uses FedEx so shipping might be faster I'm assuming?

    Thanks

HP delivery is much faster than they state on the website. On my first order, the ETD was June 16th, and it came in on the 12th. I had some problems with the hard drive, and the replacement got to be in 3 business days.

I've advice buying direct - it's been a good experience overall.

i recently ordered a dv2000t for $1200 at costco about a week ago... i got a confirmation email saying that my laptop has been shipped today... imho i think costco's return policy is the best... thats why i didnt mind paying a lil extra for it... i called costco headquarters.. and they said that after ordering online through costco.. they send the order to hp. and hp makes and ships the laptop themselves.. i think that is why costco doesnt provide any tracking information online... but yea.. hoped that helped..
