    Buying a laptop from hp. what happens if im' not there to receive shipment?

    I want to buy the dv5t and ship it to my friend's house in us, what happens if he's not there to receive the shipment?

    Also, how would the 9600gt ddr2 compare with 3650ddr3?

    FedEx would make three delivery attempts, they won't leave it if somebody is not there to sign it. You can pick it up from FedEx any day after 5 p.m. on a missed delivery. After 3-failed deliveries you can pick it up from FedEx for a period of I believe 7-days, when they hold it at their depot. If it isn't picked up by that time it gets returned to HP.

    If you know for certain that no one will be available at the delivery address to sign for the package, you should write a brief note/letter asking them to hold the package for pickup at nearest FedEx Distribution Facility. That way it will be held until you can pick it up (within 7-days or so) and it won't be re-routed for the second and third delivery attempts.

    All the benchmark scores I've seen show the nVIDIA 9600M GT outperforming the ATI Radeon Mobilty HD 3650 by a substantial margin. The 9600M GS and HD 3650 are closer in performance.

    For the sake of comparison-

    512mb nVIDIA GeForce 9600M GS- no data/no data/3600
    512mb nVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT- 13,779/8569/5022

    or u can call shipping co. ( ups, usps, Fedex ) them and choose to pick up in a wear house were package stay over night. i just need to drive there and show ur ID :D no wait and worry

    The sale on the dv5t is ending, so i have to buy it soon. my friend won't be home for 2 weeks, so after the initial delivery, and the fedexpeople keep it at their warehouse for 7 days, that would be 2 weeks. the laptop would have been shipped back to hp then. is there any way aruond that? like telling that to ship it later?

    Well, it depends on when the shipment goes out, as well. Why not just ship it to where he'll be -- or to you and you could send/forward/give it to him?
