Well its now time for my nephew to need his own notebook, uncle cloewe to the rescue. I shopped around and decided I would stick with another dv1000 (though an IBM t42 was close). I was going to give my old dv100 to nephew and get myself newer one. Had him register at HP APP site. Best price after rebate $930.00.
Was wondering if I call HP could I get better price since I saw a desktop refurb for $455 that is a great deal, and notwithstanding Dell is offering same spec 630m for about $100 less than dv1000.
So, has anyone ever got HP to give a competitor match? or a combo deal?

Thanks this site is very helpful
