    CD/DVD burner will not work

    I have a compaq presario v6000. i cannot burn cds or dvds, any clue what may be my problem. none of my burning programs will work

    here is a screen shot of what it says when i try to open my burning program.

    Which verson of Vista are you running? If it is Premium, see if the native burning software is working first. I would guess that the programs did not install properly under Vista, or Vista can't run them at all. I remember seeing similar errors under the Vista Beta with early versions of Nero.

    I'm running home premium, the native software also does not work. 1 click worked before and it just stopped.

    Try uninstalling your burning programs and see if the native software resumes working. They could have corrupted certain Vista files. Either that, or see if there is an update for them that addresses any Vista compatibility problems.
