    Two questions:

    1. What are dangerously high CPU temps? I've occasionally alt-tabbed out of games to find my CPU jumping to 68°C or so. That seems quite high. I am using a notebook cooling stand as well.

    2. Is there a way to make the computer boot to the power-saving graphics card, even when plugged in? I'm sure there, I just can't seem to find it. The notebook runs a lot quiet when not using the dedicated card (fan runs more often with the card on)

    Thanks!

If you use dynamic switching the intel chip will be defaulted on boot.

If you use Fixed, the previously used card will be used upon boot. I guess you could set the hotkeys in CCC and then have an autohotkey script run to punch those keys for you a minute after the computer finishes booting up.

68C is not hot at all. I wouldn't worry unless it's above 90. Your PC will shut down before any actual damage is done (around 100C)

For the second question, just disable the switching when plugged in.

IMO, most of the heat come from the processor, by disabling TurboBoost you can lower the temp as much as 10c at peak.
