I have HP Pavillion ze4904us that has Celeron M 1.3. I was wondering if anyone has upgraded this model or any of the ze4900's to the Pentium M like the 755 which runs at 2.0 Ghz. The machine runs pretty good now that I added more memory. I have 1.25 gigabytes and might go to 2 but thus far I think the 1.25 is OK. Last year hard drive went so I went to larger faster drive which helped as well. Please advise.

You'll see a bigger performance jump with 2GB of RAM compared to a processor upgrade, unless you plan on encoding video or audio.

Also, the RAM upgrade will be cheaper than a processor upgrade.

Plus a memory upgrade is a whole lot easier to do than a cpu upgrade! ;)

I saw this posting from last year and was wondering if you can in fact upgrade the ze490 to 2GB memory. HP support sait it can only support 1GB and they said you cannot upgrade the processor which I am also wanting to do. I want to go to at least a Pentium M 1.7 or 1.8. Anyone know which is correct? Thanks,
