    Greetings.

I'm planning on updating the T5250 c2d in my DV6699eo Pavilion. But there are a few questions I have to ask. I assume the T5250 can be replaced with a T8100 or T8300 c2d, because they should use the same socket, and also because HP released a bios update for the dv6500 series with support for the penryn cpus.

However I'm a little worried about switching from a cpu with a 667MHz fsb to one with a 800MHz fsb, mainly because of the complete lack of bios setup options. Will a swap work?

And after going through some of the documentation provided by HP, I'm a little puzzled by their parts list. They mention two different processor brackets. Part number 450370-001 and 450371-001. The first one is "For use with 7.9 processors" and the second one "For use with 8.1 processors". This confuses the heck out of me :)

So, a long question short. Do you believe swapping the T5250 for a T8100 or T8300 would be a relatively simple job? Meaning that it won't require any extra parts? And will it work?

    Advice would be appreciated
