This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     If you want to do this upgrade you should use the HP Service media library This is also a video of the process, select notebook & table pc's >>HP Pavillion PC >> then your model (dv5-100,1100,1200) >>FRU remove/replace. Good luck.

    That's the best technical library I've seen from any notebook manufacturers! Thanks for the link, its tremendously useful. It even includes a Bios simulator so you can troubleshoot Bios related problems for other HP users. Really thoughtful.
