My cousin gave me his CQ45-104TX which he "destroyed" and seriously, I'm hating this notebook. Had it for a few months now and used it maybe 10 to 15 times, but wow. This laptop overheated so I got it cleaned, twice. Now the screen is pretty flimsy and apparently the hinge is missing one crucial piece of component. But worst of all is the battery life. I dunno if it's cus he killed the battery or the battery just sucks, but I rarely get more than an hour on the battery if I'm watching something full screen. I'd be lucky if I can get 2 hours on the battery. Plus the Windows battery icon shows only the percentage, not the time remaining for the battery life which leads me to suspect that the battery is not holding its charge very well. Is there a way to check? Can I buy a new battery for cheap somewhere?

Also, how do I get rid of the hard drive showing up in "Safely Remove Hardware"? I've formatted already, but it didn't work. Checked the BIOS, nothing in there either.
