    CQ50
    AMD sempron SI-40
    nVidia GPU
    4gb RAM
    Win7
When login to windows or resume, it takes forever for the wifi LED to turn blue from red. I had to wait several minutes and press on the button to turn it on. Is the controller going bad or just the card? Could it be the same as HP DV6000 series when nVidia going bad start to loose connection? I will try different OS and card to see when I have time.

Here's is something weird about PCI-E WLAN card. I know it's picky, it will not except other manufacturer card. What I didnt know is it doesn't like card from another model either.
    What the heck?!
The one in the CQ50 is Atheros.
Replaced with CQ60 Atheros, not supported!
Replaced with F700 BCM, not suppored!
I will tried one more from HP DV6000 and will update soon.

I don’t think your problem is going to be the card itself. It can be a lot of different problems, are you using a static IP address, or is the router assigning you an IP address? Your router could just be slow at handing out IP addresses, and you could benefit from changing it to a static IP.

As for the computer being picky about cards, it’s not picky about cards, the bios is simply setup to block all cards but the factory spec ones. To get by this problem, you need to flash a bios that has the whitelist removed. Have a look around this link, and try to find a bios that is confirmed to work with your exact model number, LINK. If one is not given on that website, you can do a request for one, or you can do a google search for your exact model number whitelist bios.

I am possitive it's not my router. I have 4 laptop and a desktop running without issue. About the mod-bios, thanks for the link, but I'll pass for now. I just have to live with turning on the wifi manually with the touch of the button each time.
