    I get a Compaq V6105NR come spec.

    1.73 Celeron M
    512mb 677mhz ram
    Sata 100gb etc..

Just wonder is it possible to run it with Duo Core or Pentium M on it? If so, can it automatically has SpeedStep function?

    Pentium M - Not Possible

Core Duo/Core 2 Duo(Socket M based only) - Possible but depends on what chipset HP decided to use. If it is the 940GM then you are stuck with the Celeron M. If it is the 945GM then you can upgrade to the Duo's and speed step should function normally.

Well, that information isnt really conclusive. It could be either the 945 or the 940. Try the Intel chipset identification utility which might be able to display the exact chipset in your system...

My guess would be the 940. Going by the HP specs of that machine, it has neither the 3rd USB port or the 5-in-1 media reader which was inherent on the 945 board.

It still confuse me, Intel chipset ID show Mobile Intel(R)945GM/GMS/940GML Express Chipsets or Intel(R) 945GT Express Chipset. How can i find out what exact chipset in my V6105NR?? Do i have open up and take Motherboard out??

You don't need to open the computer to find that out. You just need to find the right utility software to find that out. Try going to intel.com and as Miner said look for the Intel chipset identification utility, and that way you should find out.

Just check Window System information show under display has Mobile Intel(R) 945GM Express chipset Family. I believe 945GM is just a Graphic chipset, no the Northbridge chipset right??

It's tested on right Intel chipset Idenification and shows 945GM or Window system information shows 945GM as well. Next, i will get cheap Core due from Ebay test on it.

Don't you guys know if BioS doesn't support, it won't matter what chipset it has.

The BIOS should definately support it since HP offered the Core 2Duo/Core Duo with the V6000 series.

I guess if thats what it says, you may be in luck. It is possible that your unit is more upgraded than the factory specs say, but it is a rare occurance in a pre-configured unit (unless it was a refurb or return). Hope it works out for you. :)
