I had a DV1000 for almost 2years. I loved it so much that I bought the new one, DV1000t.

I want to upgrade the CPU to Core2 Duo instead of the Core Solo that it has now. Does anyone know if this is possible? I don't want to spend $400 and not have it work and not be able to return it.

I have tested it with a Core Duo and it worked, but I wanted to find out if the Core2 Duo will also work. Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks,
    K

If the BIOS supports Core 2 Duo, then yes, it should work.

However, being that HP never offered the dv1000 with Core 2 Duo, the BIOS could possible only support Core Duo.

Not sure how one would actually check to see if it would work with the latest BIOS, aside from putting ina core 2 Duo chip and trying to boot.
