HP Envy Sleekbook 15.6" AMD A6-4455M Laptop (6-1040CA) - Black : 15" Laptops - Future Shop
I am having troubles deciding if I should keep this laptop or not and I need an experts advice if this thing could handle my daily needs. Already posted in the "which laptop to buy" but I figured a section dedicated to envy, there must be some envy pro's!
So the main focus of me switching from my desktop to a laptop is because I'm a university student and my home is not as quiet - so I need portability.
I'm a gamer but not an intense one. So common games I'd like to play would be League of legends and Grand Theft Auto (I'm waiting for 5 to come out). Another game I have my eye on is Guild Wars 2. Now keep in mind I only game in between semesters and during the summer - There is not enough time during the school semesters).
Looks are kind of important to me - I like slim laptops and without unnecessary devices like an optical drive that make a computer look thick.
My problem is I can't decide if this laptop would be able to handle some medium games like GTA 5, GW2, and LoL. After countless hours of researching the processor, I found it to be EXCELLENT for doing daily homework tasks and watching videos, which I love. However, modern games are not a typical option.
If someone has more in-depth suggestions about the games I listed and similar ones to them, could you please explain if this laptop is good or would I need to get something like this:
HP Pavilion 15.6" AMD Quad-Core A10-4600M Accelerated Laptop (M6-1084CA) - Black : 15" Laptops - Future Shop
Thanks.
P.S - I only like HP computers - they're solid and I find other brands to be a bit cheap![]()

I have the envy 6-1010us, which has almost the same specs except for memory. The 6-1010us has 4gb while the 6-1040ca has 8gb.
The A6-4455M is fairly weak. Some say it is not a "true" dual core processor, but I won't get into that debate.
What I will say is that playing a 1080p youtube video fullscreen will tap 60-70% of the CPU. Even playing 1080p video outside of flash will tap 50%+ of the CPU.
I don't play games but my guess is that the CPU would be a limiting factor for sure. I like the envy 6-1010us, but anything that presses the CPU is a problem. Even multitasking multiple browser tabs while also having office running starts to hit the CPU max.
Can I get some opinions on the envy 6-1040CA
