I'm keeping the notebook unless something is wrong or not right.

When Fed-Ex comes can I just tell the guy to return it to the sender? I'm not sure how the return process works.

Edited. I'm torn about returning it as it could take 3-4 weeks to get another one.

You MUST call HP and explain your situation! Do not just "Return to Sender!" You may not get proper credit back to your account. From the HP Home Store Return policy: ( http://www.shopping.hp.com/webapp/s...LzJVnLhy1gQXrdGSy7hYSQDTVtZmvCHps6!-986844258) <<<< Read that in full!.

Does it have to get shipped back to China or how far does it have to go?

Good advice. And, here's a little tip to make the process less bothersome: I found out from experience, (when I had to return a faulty laptop to HP), that if you do not want the bother of having to go to FedEx, you can tell HP that you have no way to print the labels, and they will have the FedEx delivery guy prepare the labels right at your door, and pick the computer up from your home!

yeah you gotta call hp and have them issue you an RMA.

the RMA is HP's ways to acknowledge that you are returning the unit and want your money back or a credit or something.

my first dv7t got sent back to memphis as the mod with 36 rep points said :)
