    It's a new dv7 with one of the new Intel Processors.

    Also, do you know where I will find the exact piece number I need?

    Amazingly the service manual link can be found in the owner's lounge, it is a stickied thread... The part number can be found in the manual.

    No. There's no way for them to tell if you opened the laptop or anything.
