So I have been searching online for quite awhile, but there is a lot of information. I have the following CTO laptop:

HP Pavilion dv6z-3000 CTO Entertainment Notebook PC
    Product Number: wf750av
Specs are: AMD Phenom QC N930 (2GHz), 8gb ram, 512mb ATI Radeon HD 5470, and I have upgraded HDD to 256gb SSD.

From what I have found, the original replacement screen (with standard 1366x768 res) is 595132-001 is no longer supplied. Please order the replacement, 631019-001.

So is it possible to do a straight swap for a higher res display? I found another thread that said an AUO B156HW01 V4 would work for dv6, but not sure if they are all the same. Thanks in advance for any help.

In order to swap in a higher-res display, the cable needs to support dual-channel LVDS. I don't think your cable does, and I don't know how one would go about finding one that does for your particular model.

Would taking it apart and getting pics of everything possibly help at all or should I just deal with what I have?
