This is my portable go to laptop when working on my phones/tablets, etc.

I have added 16gb RAM and replaced the HDD w/a SSD that I pulled from my Toshiba (when I upgraded the SSD in it). It is nice and zippy but the tinkerer in me keeps wanting to replace the chip.

I would like to know if it is possible to upgrade the processor to something more powerful? Has anyone here done this?

Also, the optical drive is starting to make noise and may be on its way out. Is it possible to replace the optical drive w/a 2.5" HDD and expand my storage capacity? Or should I just replace the optical drive if that is impracticle? I have the HDD that I took out of this dv6 when I replaced it w/the SSD-just want to recycle the drive if possible...

    Thanks,
    Jeff

If you want to use a quad core i7 you need a newer bios + bigger psu. (120W) You can easilya swap the i5 to a dual core i7 without any modifications.
