    Hello,

I've used this forum for a long time and have Upgraded my emachine M6805 before I sold it. I now own a HP Pavilion dv9208nr It's a nice laptop but the 1.6Ghz is not for me. Can I upgrade the AMD Processor in this notebook? also Do I need to update the BIOS as well? Any help or a link would greatly be appreciated :)

You could upgrade the notebook, but you HAVE to get a processor that is currently offered in the dv9000z series on the customized order pages. www.newegg.com should have the processors on sale.

You shouldn't need a BIOS update, but you should make sure you have the latest BIOS anyway.

The highest processor that you can get is the 2.2GHz TL-64.

Cool and that mother board will support it with no problem? Is there a link you have available where I can purchase this chip? All the links I've tried just have the Athlon 64 available

Yes, the mobo will support it. The TL-64 is currently an option on the dv9XXXz series.

The only link I found after a quick search was from Buy.com
