Can a HP Compaq NX6320 be operated without the battery. Trying to isolate whether the notebook has battery issues or power issues. When power on switch is pressed, With AC plugged in, the lighting indicator ( assume for charging) blinks three times and that all folks, not power. Of course if the battery in not plugged in, not even the lighting indicator works.

It should power on without the battery. If it blinks 3 times and doesn't turn on, there is a motherboard failure.
