Hi
Can anyone advise me please?
my younger sis uses her hp pavillion laptop wirelessly around her home and all is fine.
I cannot take my hp laptop when I go there but She also has a packard bell tower and as I am going to stay with her for a while I am wondering if it can also be used wirelessly as it will be positioned too far away from her modem to be connected with a cable.
She tells me that she has tried and cannot make a wireless connection and as neither of us are very technical I am wondering what the obvious ways of checking if it is possible are and what steps I need to take to get it running in the same way as a wireless laptop. Do I need extra equipment etc?
Any suggestions, or help with knowing what first steps I should take, would be really helpful and much appreciated if anyone could take the time please?
Thanking you,
Mark

If it doesn't already have Wi-Fi built in, you can buy a wifi card or wifi USB adaptor for that functionality.

look on Amazon for a "Wi-Fi USB Dongle". Check whether your router is 802.11a, b, g, or n and buy the appropriate dongle.
