    Hi,

I was wondering if it was possible to buy the bluetooth module and add it to compaq v3000z laptop (non cto)? If so, what is the part number?

    Thanks in Advance!

I'd check out http://partsurfer.hp.com for parts info. I had trouble locating it, but you need a miniPCI slot BT module. Worse case scenario: purchase an HP module from another model. They are all the same (I'm almost 100% certain).

Adding Bluetooth is definately possible but you will have to disassemble the laptop to access the bluetooth compartment. Look throught the service manual for more detailed info...

The part number for the bluetooth module is 397923-001.

But those stick out of your computer, and take up another USB port.

Chances are, if someone wants to open up their computer to upgrade it, they probably already know of the USB dongles.

Check the service manualI linked in my previous post. The modules seems to be buried inside the notebook and from the schematic in the service manual, it looks like it is located beneath the touchpad. It looks like a lot of disassembly/voiding your warranty just to install the bluetooth module.

I still don't know what to do with my BT interface. I have RAZA V3 with BT and a BT earphone come with phone. How to make them work? Especially the ear phone.

the hp part number you need is 397923-001 ... BUT you can't order it online, and I have tried to call them 3 time and have gotten the run around. The first time I called they put me on hold, and the hung up on me!!! i am REALLY mad by them not helping me. If you have any luck getting through PLEASE give a step by step way of getting it.

I found out why we can't order that part right now, and that is b/c they are sold out. After 50 mins of talking to them (4th time calling) I tell them the part # (I have told them before when I called them the other times), and they said they are sold out. So if you still want to do the internal, I guess we will just have to wait
