i have an hp dv2415nr that used to have Vista, but i put xp on it and i got all the right drivers, but i don't like the touchpad driver that goes with this computer(even though it works) because it doesn't have one feature i really want. i want to be able to specify that when i click the right and left buttons at the same time, it will scroll click.
right now i have Synaptics Touchpad driver version 9.1.11 Q
is there a driver that has that ability and will work for this computer?
    thanks in advance

I have the exact same laptop you do, and I chatted with an HP rep online, and he gave me all the drivers for this laptop if I wanted to switch to XP...I can send you it via AIM or something, PM me for that...

Also, were your Quick Launch buttons and webcam and mic able to work fine? I haven't put XP on it yet, because I keep looking elsewhere for backup drivers just in case...maybe we can exchange some drivers.

using the drivers provided on this thread--http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=165319--i was able to get most things to work (including Quick Launch buttons and the webcam and mic) but i couldn't use the intel drivers they provided because the dv2415nr's have an AMD Turion processor so i had to hunt the rest down.
The hardest things to get to work were the wireless and and the sound
anyway, i have all the right drivers installed now and if you cant get something to work, i'm sure i can tell you where to get the right driver

Sorry for the off topic but it is kind of urgent and i don`t know who to ask. i recently got a hp pavillion dv2415nr and i want to restore to factory but i don`t have the restore disk and hp can`t give it to me because it was never sold in my country, in Romania, can anyone upload it or can i find it elsewhere because i have been looking for almost 2 weeks and i don`t want to install a new os because i`ll lose all the programs from hp.

Try going to your start menu and typing "Recovery", you should see Recovery Disc Creation and Recovery Manager. The manager will allow you to restore to a factory state without using discs. I did it that way when I got a trojan and restored it to factory, very nifty. If you can't find it, try searching for it on the HP website. Good luck.
