I would like to see if i can get some cool HD temps by either drilling holes or slots in the door of of the hard drive bay on my dv6000t. let it breathe a little.

But just in case i mess it up, i dont want a jacked up door.

I tried searching on hp's site, all i could find was drives and such.

can anyone help point me in the right direction?

Also, what do you think of my idea?

I think it won't make any difference really there is a screen mesh which lets the air come and go on the latch anyways.

You can order it, but you also have to order 2 or 3 other parts along with it in the plastics kit which costs around $75.00

why dont you try using an notebook cooler of sum sort i bet it will be useful in atleast cooling down your system a bit
about that mesh idea i agree its a great idea but wont the dust seep in through those holes in the mesh into the system? and i bet it aint good at all
i mean if you got dust and hair in the system....it aint that good but i bet it will cool down your hdd by quite a margin due to better air circulation

I have a 120GB Fujitsu currently, and the temps are usually 105-115F

I have 2 100 gb 5400 RPMs and the primary is running around 119 and the secondary is around 112.

A cooler helps alot. I stopped running mine as much but it definately helps...ALOT.
