I tried to burn my restore DVD's yesterday using the HP restore disc burning utility and it said I can't use DVDRW's. Is there a workaround for this? OTOH is there a way I can make a simple windows XP install disc on a DVDRW from my computer? Thanks y'all.

No, the restore program does not allow burning to DVD-RW for the obvious reason: they're rewritable and therefore the information is deletable.
