I was wondering if the dv7-1020us could do some decent gaming. With a 9600GT and 4GB of RAM, the only thing that concerns me is the processor. A P7350(2.0GHz, 1066MHz FSB, 3MB L2) seems like it might not be able to handle current gen games, let alone games coming out in the future. I just want to be able to play games like Mass Effect, Bioshock, Team Fortress 2, and World in Conflict with medium settings at about 30fps. Could the CPU handle it?

the cpu should be fine for everything, except for (i think) team fortress and world in conflict. i have heard they are cpu demanding games. mass effect and bioshock would be fine on med settings 1280 by 800

Hmm, my current laptop, which is again an HP, runs World In Conflict at near lowest settings, at a playable frame rate. (3.2 GHz Pentium 4 HT, ATI X600, and 1GB of RAM) Is the P7350 really that bad of a processor? I would like this laptop to last me quite a bit (at least 2 years). Should I not even bother then?

Everything will run fine. I had a T7250 at 2.0Ghz and it ran COD4 and World in Conflict without lag or setbacks. I had the settings on fairly high as well.
