Can we install XP on the Tx1000 and still can use touchscreen ???

Hi guys....
I ordered an HP Tx1000 for my uncle a month ago and he told me that after talking with an HP technician, they said that if XP is installed, the touch screen won't be usable !!!

Is that true ? is there anyway I can solve that problem ???

 

You need XP Tablet PC edition to get the touchscreen to work AFAIK, and that was not available via retail channels...

Yes you can, I've installed XP on a second partition on TX1000 series (TX1340) and as far as I know everything is working well except the DVD and associated
buttons adjacent to the screen.

Yes I'm sure, I have Vista and XP dual booting on my newly purchased TX1340 the touchscreen is working under XP using the drivers from

The screen rotation button on the notebook does not function in XP however but this can still be achieved using the nVidia facility loaded with the graphics driver.

I've also used various other drivers intended for different HP notebooks.

I have most everything working with XP on my xt1000, except the graphics.
