Can you add 6-in-1 option after the fact?

Anyone know if the 6-in-1 option could be added to a laptop without this option? I don't know if it's a card or is directly built into the motherboard.

I recommended a v5101 based on the fact that an add said it had a 6-in-1 option. However, when I read the specs. on the Compaq site, it doesn't make a mention of the option. I then looked at the site of the vendor and they don't make mention of it either. :(

I guess salescircular.com must be making misprints?

It's built into the system board on the laptops I've seen. Just get a USB multi-card reader, I think they are 11+ in 1s now heh

I think it's an internal usb device. If you are brave enough go and see in the hardware section how a guy inserted an external USB WiFi device into the laptop..

    Thanks for the info.
I was more interested in the dedicated memory aspect of this add in.

    Regards,

It is built-in on the motherboard. It is not possible to add one with a daughter card. Bluetooth can be added this way, but not the reader !

As mentionned above, I've integrated an external wireless dongle in my laptop, read more here

Bluetooth and Wireless cards are seperately connected and not built into the system board, whereas the media reader is built into the system board.
As far as Wipeout's suggestion, I'd wait til after the expiration of all warranties.
