    Can you buy blu-ray separately for dv5t through HP?

    Well basically the title says it all, but I can't find it on the HP website. I know you can take it out, so I assume they sell it?

    HP will sell it for like twice as much.

    You just need to match the size of your current drive (should be the standard 12.7mm slimline drive) and look for a good brand. Like this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827118009

    You will need to swap the drives bezel so it sits flush into the notebook (unless you get a slot loading one)

    No dont get that drive its IDE. The new dv serries actually uses sata i have checked my self on my dv7. Look on newegg for the sata version and just swap the bezel and rear screw hole bracket and you will be set.
