I currently have an envy 14 with a radiance screen.

If I buy a new sandybridge envy 14 can I switch the screens and put the radiance screen on the new envy and put the new envy's screen on my old envy and sell the old envy?

Do they have the same connectors and the same fit and everything?

If I cant put the radiance screen on the new envy 14 then I won't be upgrading my laptop any time soon.

I will probably be able to give you an answer once i see the insides of the new SB envy, but don't count on it. HP uses a proprietary connector that contains the mic, webcam, LCD, and light connections. If HP changes anything up, then the whole connector won't work properly.

One NBR member volunteered to be a guinea pig for that failed experiment. Different connectors are used. Don't do it!

    man that sucksssss

It's basically an overall downgrade if i get the new envy 14 :(

no fun for me now i dont get to buy a new laptop till ivy bridge. I guess I'll just save money so ill be able to buy a new ivy bridge laptop and give the envy 14 to my sister (she is using a 600mhz mobile pentium 3 dinosaur dont know how she does it)

i bet hp changed the connector on purpose just so they could screw with me yes the company makes decisions to personally mess with me i believe that
