    I was wondering if it's possible to upgrade a laptop cpu. If yes, has anyone done it.

    Yes. It depends on your laptop's chipset mainly, which CPUs are compatible.

    You should be able to upgrade to any of the Turion TL series processors. Just make sure you have the latest bios. It will involve disassembling the system to access the cpu but hp has good service manuals and videos online describing the process.
