    Can't capture from PVR

    Hi-

    Am using WinDVD Creator 2 (supplied with ZD8000 MCE edition). If I connect a DV camera direct to the ZD8000, WinDVD Creator captures fine.

    When I hook up the DV camera or a VCR to Input 1 or Input 2 of the PVR (Adaptec AVC-3610 is what HP provides), I cannot capture. The capture tab shows 2 capture devices, both labeled as "Adaptec USB Capture Device". I have selected both of them separately and set the 'video source' to "S-Video" or "Composite" in the 'device control' tab of the settings (click on the wrench). None of these work: I click on the Red record button, it prompts me to specify the file name, I click 'Save' - and the button remains red with nothing happening.

    I read a post saying that the MCE manual (which did not come with my ZD8000) states that the ZD8000 needs to be powered off while you are plugging stuff into the PVR. Tried that, but same problems.

    Can anybody please help me?

    What I REALLY want to know is if there is ANY software other than Media Center that can capture from the Adaptec PVR in this notebook.
