When I bought tx1120us (12.1"), the first thing I did was create recovery discs. After removing a bunch of bloatwares, I wanted to create recovery discs again so that the discs do not contain bloatwares. But I get the message:
"A set of recovery discs has been created for the PC".
Why does HP care how many times I create recovery discs? Is there a way to reset?
Thanks,
Peter

You cannot make the recovery without the bloatware and as you've noticed, you can only make them once.

HP hs set limit of one. I believe there are ways around it(search the forum) but even if you are able to create a second set of recovery disc its going to contain all the bloatware since it is created from the restore partition on the HD. Its not the current image of your hard drive.

That's a bummer. What if my original recovery discs are corrupted, how can I make a new one? I already made a backup of the original discs but still HP should allow to make as many recovery discs as possible. I know there is a partition on D: drive containing recovery.
Thanks,

Yep. HP only wants you to make ONE recovery disc set. The other recovery is in your hard disk. If you deleted the bloatwares and then do a recovery disc set those bloatwares will still be there when you re-install. If you deleted the bloatwares and want to re-install without them then that constitute a full backup of the drive.

in my opinion its a way for them to sell you another spare of recovery discs so they can make money. but if you want to make a spare after you figure out how make sure you dont delete the recovery partition if you still want to create another copy, you know just in case
