I have a new Intel x25-M 160gb SSD, and I'm trying to flash the new firmware per Intel's instructions, but when I boot from the image CD, the process hangs at the initial screen. My computer is a new HDX18t. I can't find anywhere in the BIOS or System Information the firmware version that is currently installed in my system, either.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Im going to have the same problem with my dv7t quad edition I fear.I have this crippled bios made by INSYDE which gives you no info or options. Anyway as I understand it,the firmware tool only works if the bios sata ports are configured to AHCI, legacy or compatability and not in RAID or "native-IDE". That might be your trouble , that comes right from the intel read me on the tool.Is your trim working, if it is then you should be in AHCI mode. Post back and let me know about the trim working.
