I am trying to access the "Device Settings" tab in the Mouse control panel, but it does not show.

I have a Compaq F500 series laptop, if that matters, though I don't think it does.

I have tried COMPLETELY uninstalling the current driver and reinstalling the drivers both from HP's site and Synaptics website. I have tried going through the registry and removed all mentions of SYNaptics.

The touchpad works in a limited fashion. can't get the vertical or horizontal scrolling, palm check, and other options. It basically works for moving the mouse and double-tap = doubleclick.

HP Tech support is pointless as I'm sure you can imagine. Just keep getting told to reinstall the drivers.

    Any help??
