    I'm really frustrated with this one.

    I have an HP remote card (the kind that fits in the express slot). It worked fine with my HP when I had Vista. I then downgraded to XP (I hated Vista) for a year then upgraded to Windows 7 (Home Premium) and the remote won't function at all. It didn't function in XP obviously, but I know it should function in 7 because many other people had upgraded from Vista to 7 and didn't lose the ability.

    It's not the battery or anything; I put a new one in. I've googled all over the place and people are saying to install the CIR driver from HP to get it to work but I've done that and nothing works.

    My laptop is a Pavilion dv6700t.

    Thanks for the help.

    1) Try checking in the device manager.
    START --> Type in the search bar "devmgmt.msc"

    2) Look in the Human Interface Device (HID)

    3) Make sure there are the following:
    * ENE CIR Receiver
    * HID-compliant consumer control device
    * Microsoft eHome Infrared Transceiver

    If not, then try reinstalling the driver.
    ENE CIR Receiver 2.7.4.0
