I cannot uninstall Activation Assistant for Microsoft Office 2007. It says I need to install Microsoft Office before I can install the Activation Assistant. I already removed Office though.

    CCleaner says:

"The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable."

delete it manually, i.e. delete the registries...

Start - Run - Regedit - F3 - search for "Activation Assistant... " (type in the full name as appeared in Add/Remove window)

once it finds one registry, delete it. Press F3 again to continue the search. Sometimes during the process you should find one that is under the installed program list, once that is deleted, check "add/remove" or
programs and features" window, Activation Assistant.... should no longer be there.

Also during the process, skip some registries, as they would become impossible to delete them all manually (literally thousands of them).

Once you are finished with the deletions:

Start - Search - Advanced Search - Location = Everywhere - Check = Include non-indexed.... - Type in the same name in the Name box and search for it.

once windows is done searching, delete all the results, that should take care all the files that on your local harddrive.

to check, go to C:\Program Files\ and C:\Program Files\Common Files, "Activation Assistant...." should no longer be there....

Hmmm.... I deleted all of that and it's still listed in the uninstall programs list.

I think it's just bothering me that it won't go away.

first of all, I did this process twice, and they worked out perfectly.
it's bit tricky when you search for Activation Assistant..., since its name is so long.
I'm pretty sure that you skipped the important place where the registries were, since there's no way you can delete all those registries in the registry.

Best you can do, search and delete again, this time, try just type in the first couple words.

What exactly am I supposed to be deleting? You said, "Sometimes during the process you should find one that is under the installed program list." What do you mean by this?

    okay, forget that.

This is what you need to do, if you only want to remove the "Activation Assistant..." from the Add/Remove Program List:

Close your Add/Remove or Programs and Features Window First.

    Start - Run - regedit
on the left side panel, navgate to:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall

Once you expanded the "Uninstall", you should see a list of programs that are in Add/Remove Programs List.

To remove a program, in this case, the Activation Assistant, just find it (you can search from here), highlight it, and press your delete key on the keyboard.

Now go to your Add/Remove Programs or Programs and Features Window, Activation Assistant should disappear.

Once you delete the registries, you can go ahead delete the Activation Assistant files there are stored on your harddrive (as mentioned above)

ok good. The only reason why I let you go through all that registries deletions is to make sure that no useless registries are left in your Windows Registry, thus slowing down/corrupting your system.

Normally you can use a registry cleaner, which essentially does the same thing. Programs such as Registry Mechanic, but sometimes it just doesn't do the job. Therefore you have to do it manually. It's a pain, I know.

First you should trie to run the installer packet found in the activation assistant directory, this will re install the application and solve problems with corrupt datapackages...

found it in this directory "C:\ProgramData\{174892B1-CBE7-44F5-86FF-AB555EFD73A3}"
