I can't think of anything. This is really frustrating the hell out of me. Anyway I installed a clean version of Windows XP Professional. For sound reason I installed all the hardware, but the sound will no install. There's a yellow question mark that says PCI Device which I'm pretty sure is the audio device. I always try to search for new hardware and it doesn't find anything. Then when I try to install the Setup.exe file from my SW folder or whatever it gives me a error saying it can't find the AUDIO device or something. Can someone please help me install my sound this is really agravating me.

Is there a folder called UAA(cant remember the exact name) folder in your SWSetup folder? If so, then you will have to install that(MS UAA HD Drivers) before installing the audio drivers.

On some items you have to install one set of drivers BEFORE you install the second set.
I'd suggest you go to HP.com and download the latest drivers (SP's) for your machine (instead of using the SP's in the C:\SwSetup folder) , then read thru the "notes" in the driver packages.
The notes will say to install for example you have to install xyz first, before installing this package, blah, blah,blah...
PS: On that UAA mentioned above by miner.... This is for my machine, a nx6325 RB526UT#ABA
sp32646-Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) Bus Driver for High Definition Audio.exe
Can't install sound.
