    Okay,

Here's a weird one. After about 2-5 minutes we can't pull webpages but we can receive email and chat on yahoo messenger all night long. This is on my husband's Compaq laptop. He has a f500 Presario that he put Windows XP on. It originally had Vista on it. Any thoughts?

Could be the site is slow or having lots of hits. I usually refresh the screen and sometimes it will load faster.

It's not the router because my laptop (Sony Vaio w/Vista) works fine and pulls pages when my husband's laptop doesn't. His will stop pulling webpages and stop sending email but continue to receive email and continue to allow Yahoo Messenger to send and receive messages. We've spent over an hour on the phone with HP and no success with them.

Do you have any firewall software on the laptop? Like Norton or something like that? Try to disable Norton and then see if it works again.
