I have a Compaq Presario M2105CA laptop and am not sure if that is the case with the battery. I have tried to startup the laptop with AC Adapter and Battery in the laptop or just the Battery. For some reasons the laptop can startup just with the AC Adapter only. Wonder if the problem is the battery or something beside or near the battery. How do I know if the battery is good or dead?? Also can I just use the AC Adapter to run the laptop or not a good idea to run the laptop with AC Adapter only?? Please advise about this.
Thank you,

-Take out the battery pack and unplug the AC power
-Hold the power button for 30 seconds or more
-Try turning it on again
Could be a faulty electronics in the battery if above doesnt work -
It's working now and not sure why?? Really strange!!
Thank you,

Possessed? Even if the battery is dead, the laptop should still be able to start up on AC. If it happens again, I'd stop using that battery and contact HP.

Ok I will keep my eye on this in case the battery went dead. Then I will contact HP about this.
Thank you again,

nothing wrong with running laptop with AC only. just remember NOT to unplug it while its still on
but you should replace your battery
Can't startup with battery inside the laptop??
